Managing Director Michael is a licensed Civil Engineer with over 18 years of on-the-ground civil construction and engineering experience, Michael (BEc, CertETn, LBP) oversees all of our contract management and on-site construction works.  Michael has a diploma and bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and he is a certified member of Engineering NZ (formerly IPENZ) and a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP). Michael possesses sound technical and contract management skills and relies upon his wealth of experience and knowledge in civil construction

Mike Butcher

Senior Site Foreman

Mike possesses 20 years of civil construction experience. Mike comes from a Tier 1 supervisory background and has an impressive history of delivering projects to major milestone points.  Mike’s past projects were highly complex and compliance-oriented such as the Waterview Tunnel, and Victoria Park Tunnel, supervising zones of work in excess of $50mil. Mike previously owned a civil contracting company successfully running small scopes of work from $5k to $1mil

Mike is a highly competent and skilled civil contractor. He is a natural leader inspiring the best out of all of his staff and proving himself to be fair but firm. Michael has managed and upskilled staff of up to 100  employees at any one time.  Michael is also experienced in subcontractor management

Wayne Higgins

Senior Supervisor

Wayne strengthens The Civil Company team with his 48 years of civil construction experience, he is an experienced and skilled civil works supervisor who has previously worked for a variety of specialist sub-trades in both tier 1 and 2 civil infrastructure works.  Wayne is driven and detailed in his work, managing and delivering a wide variety of civil structures from earthworks to roading, and paving

Rose Taylor BConst(QS)

Construction Coordinator

The team is supported in the office by Rose, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and draws upon her previous work experience as a project manager and quantity surveyor in both the civil and residential sectors
